:)

Today. I'm not sad.

And that's not the end of this post either ;)

Boy oh boy. Have you ever let your emotions get the best of you before? Hopefully most of you are saying yes, because I definitely don't want to be alone on this boat. It's like you know the answer to your problem is just to give it all to God and go deep into the Word and pray like there's no tomorrow, but you just don't. You hole up in the land of denial and pretend that you are the one that can handle everything. But honestly, we can't.

God has given us so many tools, His Word, prayer, fellowship, etc. so that we can lean on Him for all of our understanding. He opened up prayer to us so that we can specifically communicate to Him all of our troubles, praises, hurts, happy moments, every facet of our life we can communicate to the KING of kings and yet, so often I forget this in times where I'm in major pain.

When other people are in pain? I tell God all about it. When I'm happy about something? God's the first one I "call." So what happens that when I get sad, I turn to everything but God? Perhaps an attack of the enemy, perhaps my own pride, I'm not sure. I just know that when I finally give it all to God He takes it handles it much better than I ever could alone. This is a lesson I continually am learning. A lesson that could easily be summed up in one word, trust.

Philippians 4:6-7
"do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (ESV, emphasis mine)

Have a wonderful Friday night (:

Hi Samantha, I just found you off of MacKenzie's blog. Wow! I wish I had found you earlier. Your post are so true and comforting. I admit I am not the closest I wish I were with God, but I,too, try to make further effort to grow closer to Him. It is nice to know there are others out there who will admit the same.
I will be sure to come back and visit. If you get a chance, you are welcome to visit mine as well, but I understand how busy you must be right now with graduation and all.

P.S. I love'd your prom picture. Your dress was beautiful.

So true, Samantha. So many times, I try everything else & then think, 'O well, all I can do now is pray.' Thanks for the reminder to give it to God, FIRST.

I ♥ that Scripture. It's one that I'm meditating on & memorizing right now.

Have a great day!

I gotcha completely! What I often do is tell God what's going on, but then try and still have control. Really I'm learning trust for the first time right now with everything going on, and it's hard but it's a thing that's going to keep coming back. That's all there is to it I guess.

I loved those verses you gave, they apply so much to my life right now! I think I'll commit them to memory! Thanks for putting them up, we should work on putting more up cause I think it's cool.

Hope you keep having good days! I love you :)

I just wanted to say thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a comment! I love seeing someone left a comment on one of my post!!!
Thank you so much for your sweet reply. I am still figuring this whole blog thing out, so I'm not always so sure that what I put on my blog actually goes. Thank you for your comment about my post, too. It was really just a random thought! Funny, how those seem to be the best, huh?
I'll check back in soon, I'm sure!

so very very true! we have to always remember that God WANTS us to come to Him, even with the "little" things that we sometimes feel are too petty to bring to His throne. i am guilty of this so much - a lot of times, i get so bummed out about whatever issue is going on that i just curl up and stay miserable, instead of getting on my knees and giving it over to my Father.

that passage from Philippians is also one of my faves!

and that old song goes "Oh, what peace we often forfeit! Oh what needless griefs we bear! All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer."

Amen Sami.
