I'm beginning to think that I'm crazy. Nobody thinks the fact that I'm upset about not being with my parents and friends I'm used to celebrating my birthday with is really a big deal. I should just get over it and enjoy my birthday as best I can.
So then, if all these people think I should get over it... perhaps I should?

I agree with Casey! It is a perfectly natural feeling! It would be horrible to not be able to spend your special day with your loved ones and friends! I would be sad too.... don't listen to what the other people say.... YOU ARE NOT CRAZY!!!!!!!!

Oh, Samantha. It's okay to miss it. You don't need to 'get over it'. Some things simply grow out with time. I think that everyone must feel that way when they are separated from loved ones, and especially on special days. Were I in your place, I know for sure that I would feel the same.

Wishing you a (late) happy birthday!
